EGO THY NAME IS CAT

After many years of cat ownership, this is a poem written from personal experience.

I am a tom cat

Un-afraid

As I stalk the path.

I swagger and strut,

Swish my tail

As my buttocks

Swing,

side

to

side.

I call out at night

Howl and holler,

‘I’m here now’

I leap onto walls

Survey all I see

I am King

No Queen for me

Mollies are what I seek

As I take my pleasure

I decimate the mice

I cull the birds

I rattle the bins

LOUDLY

I announce my return

‘Open the door servant’

I shout

Warm air hits the cold

the door slides open

I swagger inside.
