I wrote this for World Ocean day and I wondered what the Ocean thought about what had been done to it.
it thundered and it poured
and with one giant snore
the ocean beast awoke
and over poured
the shore
reclaiming land
that once been taken
from within its grasp
the beast roared and laughed
‘what is mine is mine at last’
as the ocean seas frothed and foamed
its glee
taken back what once it owned
before returning
to its watery home
